Mission:

To promote the beautification of the community, contribute to the preservation of the natural environment and participate in fostering related philanthropic endeavors in the fields of education, horticulture and wildlife.  Geneva Garden Club encourages gardening for the enrichment of the lives of our members and community.

History of GGC:

The Geneva Garden Club was founded in the fall of 1928 and is a member of the Garden Clubs of Illinois, Inc and National Garden Clubs, Inc.  Recently the Geneva Garden Club was proud to celebrate its 95th birthday! In its 95 years of existence its goals have remained the same: beautification of the community, preservation of our natural environment, and the promotion of horticultural education. The Geneva Garden Club is proud to be a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization. The club and its members have undertaken many projects over the years to further these goals. Some of the projects have included: beautification of Geneva in conjunction with the Geneva Beautification Committee and the Geneva Public Library; offering the Geneva Garden Club Scholarship to Geneva residents to support their continuing education in horticulture, landscaping, or a closely related field; support for the restoration and preservation of the Japanese Garden located in the Fabyan Forest Preserve; donation of trees to the Geneva Park District and the City of Geneva; and the design and maintenance of the Geneva Garden Park for the enjoyment of the community. Some of the club’s fundraisers have included: the biennial Garden Walk; sales “From the Garden to Table” cookbook compiled by the membership; the sale of holiday bows during Geneva’s Annual Christmas Walk; the GGC Fancy Plants Plant Sale; and the Spring Fling Luncheon!  The 80 plus members are a delightful group of people who enjoy the educational and social aspects of the club.
